Aarohan is a unique endeavour, the first of its kind in the North-East India- a center dedicated to the all-round development of children using novel concepts and programmes.
Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia had established the Bhabendra Nath Saikia Children Welfare Trust (Registered under the Indian Charitable Trust Act) in February, 2001. On 20th February, 2002, construction for Aarohan, the first project of the Trust, started at Guwahati, Assam. From 15th May, 2005 Aarohan started functioning with a mission to provide children with education, inspiration and guidance in a nurturing environment that will empower them to rise beyond their circumstances to achieve goals that will bring a meaningful change in their lives as well as the lives of those around them.
In Dr. Saikia's words - " a child who spends 5 years at Aarohan will step out a stronger person with values and ideas that will help him grow into an able, conscientious and diligent adult ".
